One of the most popular essential oils is Peppermint Essential Oil. It’s right at the top of my list of favorite essential oils, too! The only one that might beat it out of that top spot for me would be Lavendar Essential Oil.
Peppermint and Lavendar Essential Oils are the two that I use the most. Lavendar helps me to relax, wind down, and get to sleep each night. Peppermint has been a life saver this spring and now into the early summer to help clear my sinuses and get me breathing freely as I STILL continue to struggle this year with irritated sinuses and a stuffy nose (will this allergy season never end? 🙂 )
Peppermint has long been used in toothpaste and chewing gum, so we know it is beneficial to our oral health and is a flavor that is well-liked and enjoyed by many. There are more benefits to peppermint than just for oral health, though. Peppermint essential oil promotes healthy respiratory function and clear breathing. It also helps to alleviate an upset stomach and relaxes muscles.
If you’re looking for safe and healthy ways to use Peppermint Essential Oil for you and your family, you might want to try one of these:
* Use two or three drops in a diffuser to ease sinus pressure and breathing (this is one of my favorite ways to use Peppermint Essential Oil!)
* Rub several drops on your stomach to ease an upset stomach or other digestive discomforts (if you have skin sensitivities, you may first want to dilute it with Fractionated Coconut Oil.
* Diffuse several drops of Peppermint Essential Oil mid-afternoon to ease mid-afternoon snack cravings.
* Apply a drop or two to your temples to ease headache pain (again, you may want to first dilute it with Fractionated Coconut Oil).
If you haven’t yet tried Peppermint Essential Oil, you’ll want to try it soon. I am sure you will quickly find it one of your favorite essential oils, too!
