When I first started my journey into the use of Essential Oils, I had no idea where to start. I had been having problems sleeping for a few years, so kind of by default I started with Lavender. I then decided to try an introductory kit that included Lavender, Lemon, and Peppermint. I stayed with just these three for awhile. I loved them all and found many benefits from just these three. And, while I wanted to try others, I didn’t for several months because I just didn’t know where to start and which to pick first.
I’ve now been using Essential Oils for almost 2 years now. I love them! I finally stepped out from just those first three Essential Oils after doing research and determining which ones would be the most beneficial to my family.
After all that research and a couple of years of using these essential oils, here’s the list of our favorites (and they all can be used on your Aromatherapy Jewelry!)…..
I love the scent of lavender and, initially, I purchased it to help me relax and sleep better. It certainly helped with that! Other ways to use Lavender would be in a bath or combined with water to create a light mist to spray around the house or car, and it can help with the occasional skin irritation or the appearance of skin imperfections.
Lemon has such an energizing aroma! Wear it on your Aromatherapy Jewelry to promote a positive mood or use as a cleaner to purify the air and surfaces. It makes a great kitchen counter top cleanser!
My favorite use for Ginger is to diffuse when I’m nauseous. It’s helps to ease that horrible feeling of nausea and you’ll feel better soon! Last summer my family enjoyed a cruise and Ginger came in quite handy on the night the water were choppier than usual due to a storm further out in the Gulf of Mexico. I was so thankful for my Ginger Essential Oil on that night! 🙂 When traveling, try a drop or two on your Aromatherapy Bracelet or Necklace. If you start to feel a bit car sick, inhale the scent to ease those feelings of nausea.
Diffuse a drop of lime on your Aromatherapy Jewelry to promote emotional balance, well-being, and to uplift your mood. This scent is another of my absolute favorites… so cleansing! It also works great as a cleanser.
This allergy season, Melaleuca has been a life saver. It helps to protect against seasonal threats and has been great to help relieve the sore throat I seem to always have with any type of sinus condition. Melaleuca also promotes a healthy immune function and is well-known for its cleansing and rejuvenating effect on the skin.
I use Peppermint a lot during allergy season, too. Diffusing Peppermint can help clear breathing as it promotes healthy respiratory function. The great thing about Peppermint is that is can be used for so many different things. Use it when you wake up in the morning for an energy boost, or when feeling fatigued or low on energy. It helps to reduce bloating, gas, and occasional indigestion. It promotes digestive health. The list goes on and on!
If an essential oil has a citrus smell, then you can just about guarantee that I will be a fan! Wild Orange has a great citrus scent that will promote overall health and a healthy immune system. It also makes a great cleanser for counter tops and other surfaces.
Bail Essential Oil will promote mental alertness and helps to lessen anxious feelings. Basil would be perfect on your Aromatherapy Jewelry on stressful days at work, or even a busy day taking the kids around to all their back-to-back activities.
Frankincense Essential Oil is another one that promotes a relaxed and balanced mood. When massaged on your hands and feet it gives a warm and soothing effect, or add to your moisturizes to reduce the appearance of blemishes.
Here’s another one of those citrus smelling essential oils! You can diffuse Grapefruit on your Aromatherapy Jewelry when you’re dieting or trying to lose weight to increase your motivation. It also works to support a healthy metabolism. Another great way to use Grapefruit Essential Oil? How about a wonderfully, soothing massage…. doesn’t that sound great!?
What are your favorite Essential Oils? I’d love to hear what you use the most and why!
